Love this veggie. So simple to make, steamed just right, makes this a delight.
Cut top of chokes off, cut partial stems, wash and place in a medium size pot. I cook four at a time. Squeeze together, and add vegetable or chicken broth to cover half of the veggies. Prefer low sodium. Sprinkle tops with minced garlic, onion and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Cover pot and simmer for at least 50 minutes. Check for doneness by carefully pulling a leaf off and is tender to eat. Cool slightly and dig in. Mayo makes a dipping sauce. I love eating them the next day and the next.
Good grief reliever.
